Food for thought:
"I never write to disappear and escape. The truth is exactly the opposite. Most people strike me as escaping and disappearing in one way or another - into their jobs, their daily routines, their delusions about themselves and others."
STEVEN MILLHAUSER
Looking back across my wider body of work, I can see how much of it has been shaped by observation, by the things we notice and sometimes overlook. Perhaps writing, for many of us, is less about escaping the world and more about trying to make sense of it.
