When I was growing up there was little in the media, including the environment, food and the relationship between food production and the environment, its processing and our links to food. It's incredibly important to think about the world, our place in the world, what that means and why we must start giving back.

Through the process of writing, I have found myself becoming both increasingly aware of just what is happening in the world – as it truly is, and concerned – not just on the surface, but in all its complexity. This growing consciousness at times, is completely overwhelming.

As I continue to write, I feel a deeper responsibility to use my voice with purpose. I plan to share more blogs that focus on issues that genuinely matter – topics that challenge us to think critically, feel deeply, and act meaningfully. My hope is that these reflections might spark something in others too: a pause, a thought, maybe even a change.

Writing has become more than expression – it's a quiet 'form of activism', a way to ask the world to pay attention. My hope is it will.
