Every day we set the tone through our words and actions. It is important to get it right. What we say, how we behave, the energy we bring into our relationships, are important, if we are to have the desired outcome. We have the opportunity to set the right tone, keeping our words positive.

Setting the Right Tone

When we set the tone, we establish a particular mindset. It establishes the way things shall continue, through institutions, in the workplace and in school. The right tone shapes our goals and our lives. We should acknowledge individuals, respect our differences, keep an open mind, be fair, open and honest and use open communication with others. And set the right tone.

Conclusion

The path to us setting a positive tone should be intentional. It is important to gain self-insight, bring clarity on what we want to create, and then act in alignment with the vision we want to create.

  1. I didn't grow up in a positive environment so it's not something I'm used to. I am learning how to be positive, it's not quite that simple when you have lived most of your life with negativity.

I know that sounds far-fetched and ridiculous, but for anyone who has lived through negativity, I'm sure that they will understand.

It would be great if I could always be extremely positive and it's something with practice I could get used to. It has helped a lot to surround myself with more positive people and avoid the negative ones.

    1. Having lived around negativity most of my life, I'm with you Randy. Not easy but perfectly doable.

You know what negativity sounds, looks and feels like. Time to be positive. With practice you can be positive. Instead of thinking about something negative, past or present, replace those thoughts with something positive.

Try not to hone in on what you know your past looks like, or why your past happened, instead try to understand why this was your life?

If like me you believe things happen for a reason, then this was your life because you needed to be stronger, to stand on your own two feet.

Your parents couldn't do that for you, you had to.

  2. There's two of me, one is very positive and pleasant, the other is disguised and unpredictable; he's the one who tries to sabotage my relationships through negativity.

I do my best to contain him Ilana, but I'm just an ordinary man.

    1. Thanks Tim. You don't have to worry about that. We all have experiences from our past that dictate our mood and how we feel.

When we're in control and on top of our thinking, we cope a lot better with what we've had to deal with.

As you say, it's negative thinking you have that sabotages your relationships. You're not alone, it happens to all of us.

It is the reason why it's important we deal with our issues.
