The autism in me struggles to recognise Covid-19, or connect with its facts. The pandemic isn’t going away, therefore we have to live alongside it, take care and be responsible for ourselves.

Times have Changed

The life we had isn’t the life we've got now. Times have changed and we should change with it to keep pace with the virus. We're being told that when we go out, we should mask up and use a hand sanitiser to protect ourselves.

Scientific Advice on Stress

The advice scientists are giving us to reduce stress, is to stop drawing attention to Covid-19 and to stop watching the news. The life we had before the pandemic is gone, we should continue to find an acceptance on our ‘new normal’ without honing-in on the virus.

We should Continue to Protect Ourselves

We can't change the reason for the pandemic and we can't continue to stress about it. We need to protect ourselves and the natural world moving forward. It desperately needs our help.

Learning to Live With and Navigate

With a changing attitude to the pandemic, we can better help ourselves. We need to learn to live alongside it, but we also need to protect and continue to protect ourselves. We can't afford to let our guards down.

We are being told there will be a second wave and that we may need to self-isolate. We also need to be okay, to change the things we can, and to stop worrying about the things we can’t.

When Understanding Doesn't Bring Closure

When healing comes without the apology I think one of the hardest things to accept is that the ending doesn't always come in the form we spent years imagining. We think there will be a final conversation, a moment ...
