I am my own heart beat and my own support. I've had to be, it's just how my life worked out. To be a more supportive role for others it is important to be a support for yourself first. To be your own support you have 'to like you' be able to deal with the inevitable stress, and be able to handle yourself.

Taking control

Take control of your mental health. In your every day, juggling a life and dealing with external influences, can be somewhat of a juggling act and a challenge. Own your sense of self, learn to get to ‘know’ you and you can start to live a different, a more fulfilling life.

Even as far back as a child, being my own support is how I got through. I am not sure how much you  understand or associate your feelings as a child, but whatever the feeling was, through those times, I was sure I needed to be my own support.

My life with anxiety and autism

With anxiety and autism, even now in the pandemic, I am continually having to ride above the wave, above my anxiety it has become essential, to keep my mental health in check. And where political decisions around the handling of the pandemic, paralyse my thinking, I am having to find ways to ride the wave even more. Without it, I am at risk of getting sick.

Also, in the pandemic and with autism, it has become essential for me to micromanage my life, manage my anxiety and to be my own support. Living with a mental disability has never been more difficult than it is now.

Even if you have different things you deal with, in the world pandemic, anxiety and trauma has probably hit. I don't believe any of us are free of those feelings. Yes, we all have something.
