Dereliction of Duty comes in many forms, but when you’re a PM a lighter than light squeaky-clean character is important, and our protection is vital.

The pandemic has brought about many insecurities and uncertainties and they continue as the UK continues to navigate the pandemic.

I manage walks and occasionally the hairdressers, masked up now that we are back in our lives, but that may set to change. The whole pandemic thing is far from over and the government’s nonplus attitude, is causing stress and chaos.

Living with chaos

I’m not usually at a loss for words, but the incompetence is staggering. I am at a loss as what to think. The situation with the UK government is not only worrying and perplexing, but it is also confounded by the loyalty of politicians in its party, to fail to do the right thing.

The situation is so bad, it’s embarrassing. In the meantime, the more vulnerable are living their lives under a cloud. As you go about your lives, you're living with a virus that can catch you out at any time. And the vaccines don’t go far enough to protect and keep us protected.

The other issue with the vaccine, is that if you already don’t have full immunity, you may be less protected. No one can have 100% immunity, we all have something which affects our wellness, but with the Covid vaccine, some of us will be less protected from the start.

Vaccine protection

The vaccines should have been formulated so they continue to protect. People who were the first in line to have the vaccine will now be less protected, or not protected at all. I know someone personally who is high risk, and who is on vaccine No. 4.

I can see more vaccines being produced to help keep pace with the virus, but how many vaccines are you willing to take before you say, enough is enough?

As is the case with Novak Djokovic, he's not saying why he's not taking the vaccine, but there is good reason to believe it's because he has doubts, not necessarily because he doesn't believe in vaccines. As the government continues to conquer and divide, we need to give people the benefit of the doubt on their decisions.

Not only have all our lives changed, but lessons are not being learned. The country is divided, and we have all changed also. But for the UK government, this is a dereliction of duty; it's a complete mess.

Please remember to... mask, face, space.

  1. It's not difficult to see the dereliction of duty over the months. As a result, I strongly suspect there will be a vacancy in No. 10 very soon. I am not giving Johnson's incompetence much thought.

The UK Government announcement tonight that existing measures are being withdrawn next week doesn't concern me, although I believe it is a mistake used by Johnson to curry favour with MP's who might otherwise not support him in a leadership challenge.

Throughout your blogging, I have always said I will behave as I see fit irrespective of the 'guidance,' (and I use the term very loosely!) from the government.

You've got to be comfortable with your own behaviour and that's all that matters to keep yourself safe.

    1. Thanks. Your response is spot on. You sum up your response beautifully with your last paragraph.

Our behaviour is the catalyst to our struggles, it is also the catalyst for an easier transition moving forward. It is also about keeping ourselves and our loved ones safe and working together to make sure that we're reducing the Covid numbers.

Whilst we can be forgiven for panicking in the early days amid the confusion, two years in and we should be making sensible choices about our lifestyles and how we choose to live our lives.
