Ilana Estelle is a mental health and wellbeing advocate who combines educational insight with her personal experience of living with physical, mental, and emotional disabilities.
She holds diplomas in Counselling, Diet and Nutrition, Nutritional Therapy, Psychotherapy and Counselling, and Stress Management. Through her writing, Ilana supports others in navigating their emotional, mental, and physical health challenges.
In addition to writing for The CP Diary, her work has appeared in healthy lifestyle magazines.

On the surface probably, but as with everything, when we have understanding we will know how to work through things and that makes us emotionally strong.
The problem we have is that we don't always want to know how to do things, because those things seem too difficult at the time for us to even try. We tend to give up at the first hurdle.
The reality is that things are only as difficult as we choose to make them. If we open our mind to life and its possibilities, we will see that things are easier than we once thought. It takes us longer to learn and change things as adults than it does for us to learn those same things as children.
Children's minds are like sponges; they absorb lots of information very quickly and are always open to learning new things.
I agree with this quote. Though I wish we could fix broken systems that strip men and women of their dignity and worthiness.
It's a vicious cycle to raise a child in an environment that breaks children before they become men. I often see strong children in broken men's faces.

With more stress being placed on families, it's becoming even more difficult for children to grow up without being broken. It starts with parenting and I'm not sure how many of us will get that right. My parents didn't.
