  1. Yes, what a great actor and I'm assuming a great guy. I have been trying to be a spiritual person and to believe that I have a higher purpose, but it's been very difficult with what I have experienced.

I spent a lot of years praying to the God that was force-fed to me as a child, but he never seemed to be listening, considering what we suffered as children.

The expression, 'religion is for the people who are afraid of going to hell, but spirituality is for people who have already been there' I heard about in 'AA' seems to be very fitting.

I'm still not 100% sure of what I believe in, but there must be a reason for me still being here, considering what I have done to try not to be.

I hope that I can find out what that is, in the time I have left.

    1. Thanks Randy. Yes, sadly the more stress we carry the less we are focused on things like our beliefs. When we take away stress, we become more centred and balanced about our life.

My own beliefs didn't really start taking shape until I was in my early 30's. But for that to happen we have to be focused on how we want our life to take shape and go out there and make it happen.

That said, I believe we can shape our lives at any time, as long as we have our health.

    1. Thanks. Yes, as you say Jake Gyllenhaal's quote assumes nothing, but sets out an objective, something we may all aspire to. It's right.

Being spiritual, part of the universal teachings, teaches us about empathy, compassion and tolerance.

Being spiritual also allows us to flourish, become better people, more gracious, no matter what we have to deal with.

    1. Thanks Tim. Yes, the Heart and including the soul has everything to do with being spiritual. I agree also.

The Heart is not just the soul, or psychic activity. The Heart is considered the world of individual emotions. The soul reveals the true universal significance of the Heart.

Everything we think and feel comes through the heart.
