  1. How true this is. I've often shut up when I should have said something for fear of the ramifications and regretted it after.

Now I try and say what I want and I'm even learning to think how I say it before speaking!

    1. Thank you. Well that's good! How what we say is always a good asset to have. The most important I would say. There's no point in saying something, then living to regret it.

It's up to others to accept that we have something we want to say.. We're entitled to say how we feel and others should listen. If the shoe were on the other foot, they would want us to listen to them.

  2. There are some things that I keep to myself for fear of how people will react if I tell it to them, especially things concerning my extended family.

I think in some cases it's often for the best for us to keep some things to ourselves, if sharing will only cause more stress or confusion; particularly if they don't make the effort to empathize with me, to better understand my side.

    1. Thanks Maria. I think you're right. You make some very good points. I think more of us should make the effort to emphasise with what others deal with.

But on our parts if we feel we need to say something, we must. Living with regret is ten times worse in my mind. That what if scenario comes to mind.

  3. Time is a very difficult thing to freeze long enough to say the right words at the right moments. We are haunted by the things we didn't say and the things we've said, only because knowledge wasn't in us at the time.

I've said some very regretful things in my life, but at the end of the day my heart speaks and makes up the difference.

    1. Thanks Tim. I think we've probably all got that tee-shirt, but as long as people can see that our heart speaks, then they will go on to form the right opinion of us.

Deep down and given what I had to deal with as a child, I was always so angry and yet years later, my father went on to say that he always knew deep down I had a kind and caring heart.

How we really are isn't always in view, particularly when we have things that take us away from our true and authentic self, as was the case with me.
