Something inspirational:

“You can’t control how other people receive your energy. Anything you do or say gets filtered through the lens of whatever they are going through at the moment, which is not about you. Just keep doing your thing with as much integrity and love as possible.”

  1. No, which is probably why I have such troubles with social anxiety and not knowing how to deal with people most of the time.

I grew up in a world where we were always being forced to deal with sick people so it's no wonder I continued the pattern as an adult.

My parents expected us to ignore the obvious signs which put us into danger, so wearing blinders became the norm for us, which others didn't understand.

It dawned on me that you live what you know, which means that even as insane as it sounds, it explains why I like many people, stay in such toxic relationships, even when we should know better.

I must remember it is okay to live my own life.

    1. Thanks Randy. Yes, although we may copy and repeat what we know, we can also relearn what we have copied and repeated for so long.

When our circumstances change, and they invariably do, we can choose to change our own rhetoric, or we are doomed to repeat what we know.

I believe things do come good eventually. With your parents no longer in your life physically dictating how you live your life, you're now in the driving seat.

  2. "You can't control how other people receive your energy." How did you know I needed to hear that statement at this very time? I was beginning to augment my role as Tim, just to ease someone's jealousy of me.

Why should I satisfy the beast in other people?

    1. Thanks Tim. Let's just say like you, over the years I resonate with the quote.

Short answer is 'you shouldn't.' No one should ever satisfy the beast in others. If I can suggest you speak your own truth and be true to yourself, no matter the cost to yourself. That is what I do.

In the short term you may find it difficult, but in the longer term, you will find more peace.
