Food for thought:
“Pay no attention to what the critics say. A statue has never been erected in honor of a critic.”
JEAN SIBELIUS
Sibelius’ quote reminds us that critics will always have something to say. Their words may come from experience, disappointment, jealousy, bitterness, insecurity, or simply a different perspective. Critics will always find something to criticise you with. The important thing is to remember that their criticism tells you something about the way they are, but it does not define who you are.
Instead, take from criticism what helps you grow, leave behind what doesn’t, and keep moving forward. Trust your vision. Those who choose to create, who contribute and live with purpose will always give others something to talk about.
While you may not always be able to silence the critics, it's important to remember to make sure their voices never become louder than your own.
