  1. Well, I'm not familiar with who this is, but I can definitely relate. This would be considered the story of my life, since I have always seemed to have a knack for making my life so much worse.

I think most of it has to do with the fact that I'm actually more afraid of success than I am of failure. Most of the time as a child it was the easier thing to do rather than work so hard and have my parents pretty much rip it away from me with all their wonderful schemes.

This actually made a lot of sense once I thought about it, since I have been following this pattern most of my life. The reality now is that they can't take anything else away from me, unless I let them.

Now I can finally do what it is that I want to do to be happy.

    1. Thanks Randy. I can understand when you say, 'I am more afraid of success than I am of failure.'

What I would say is that when we have had little to no success, it is easy to put off trying to be successful, for fear we will let ourselves down or we won't know how to handle success the other end. The more successful we become, the better we will cope at being and staying successful. The other side of that of course, is then not knowing how to cope with failure; if we fail.

It's true that our circumstances could always be worse, but we always think our circumstances are the worst, it doesn't matter what others have to deal with.

  2. This is true. But instead of berating ourselves for making things worse, we should simply notice where we went wrong and move forward.

A positive attitude to a negative event will help improve our situations; I'm forever working on that though.

    1. Thanks. Yes, we should always take note of where we went wrong so that we can put what we did wrong right and then move on.

I agree Tim, positive attitudes will always help turn negative situations into more positive improving situations.

  3. How true is this? We do have a tendency to be our own worst enemies. I'm with Tim though, learn by it and move on.
