I grew up in a world where change was forced upon us, making us always feel like we had no control, so it's no wonder I have been so hesitant to consider making changes.
The reality is that if I'm the one choosing to make the changes, I will have a lot more control over what will happen, rather than just allowing changes to happen and just accepting those changes, like I have always done.
There isn't all that much I want out of life, other than to feel like I have some small amount of control in my life with what time I have left.
The chances are very high that I may end up with dementia, so I should make the best of what time I have before I end up in a position where choices will be made for me once again.
Thanks Randy. Yes, I take the view that it is important to initiate and take control of our lives. I do agree that those who initiate change will have a better opportunity to manage change, if something is inevitable.
But not everything is inevitable. Certain things can't always be avoided, but it's best for us not to sit back and wait and think that it may happen to us. Instead we must take control and do our best to live more healthier lifestyles.
