Having taken a short weekend break, my first holiday in years, I was reminded of the twin I've lost as I came across a cafe called 'Sheila's Cottage'. It was a cute coffee shop we didn't go into because we didn't know it was there, but it was yet another gentle reminder that my twin is still around.

A difficult day

It was an all round difficult day. It's the small reminders that produce the intensity of feelings of my loss. With digestion problems from the stress of the holiday, I was also reminded, since my twin struggled with the very same thing.

I need to value my experiences, post-loss

Moving forward, it is my mindset that matters and that's the difficult part. I need to focus on me and value my experiences post-loss. I still want to talk about her, because my twin was part of my life. She is still part of my life, but differently.

Deep emotional wounds

Deep emotional wounds that are going to take time to stitch together. I don't know how to live my life without her. She's left a difficult life behind, which shouldn't be served as a painful reminder, because she isn't holding on to those.

And while that can be difficult, it's finding the positive bits.
