I have always cared – perhaps too much. I moved through life carefully, considering others, yet the same was not always returned. When we live by the expectations of others, we risk losing ourselves. In time, it becomes exhausting.

It's Okay to Care

it is okay to care, but to care about those who care about you, be selective. Stop living by others' rules or up to other people’s expectations. People will judge and have an opinion, no matter what you do.

Simplify your Life

Instead, simplify your life. Live by your own values and how you choose to live, because that dictates who you allow in your life and who you should let go of. Ignore those others who continue to judge and have an opinion about what you do and how you live your life.

Conclusion

People who don't judge or pass an opinion unless you ask for one, are the people who will be there for you during your worst times, they are the people you should choose to focus on.

  1. Some of us by nature care for humanity at large. Unfortunately, that's not the case for the spiritually dead; something else rules their hearts.

But I never ignore my senses, if you don't care about me I don't care about you.

    1. Thanks Tim. When you say, 'but I never ignore my senses, if you don't care about me I don't care about you.' Our senses are key to everything. Without our senses it's easy to misinterpret or miscommunicate.

I think we only have to pick up a newspaper to understand what your first paragraph means. If more of us understood what it means to be 'spiritual' we would understand the first thing about humanity.

We need more people to sign up. Thanks for pointing that out.

  2. Wow, it's like we grew up in the same environment, seeing as I learned how to be a people pleaser.

It's no wonder I continued to follow the pattern throughout my life of thinking it was normal to take care of my mother and other people, before thinking of myself. It was like I couldn't help myself even when I knew better.

It has cost me 13 years of my life so I know I cannot continue to keep making the same mistakes anymore. After an incident of me rescuing my daughter and her turning her back on me for my effort, I have learned that I need to stop caring so much about those people who really don't care about me.

I have to learn how to focus on living my own life and not worry so much about everyone else for a change.

    1. Thanks Randy. Yes and yes, it's really time for you to care about those who care about you. Although the lessons we're taught are difficult, they are worthwhile if we're going to change our perceptions and approach.

I appreciate the lessons you've had are not lessons you would consciously choose for yourself, but even before we get to live our physical lives, we have already chosen to come into our lives. That in itself is often difficult for us to comprehend. It took me a while too.

I believe you've come further than you think. You see your experiences, you understand your experiences, it's important you also accept those as part of your journey and move on.
