Just a thought: There are some people who always seem angry and continuously look for conflict. The battle they’re fighting isn’t with you, it’s with themselves. As we go about our daily lives, unconsciously we don’t stop to think of the consequences of being around people who seem angry. It’s only when we look back at the incidents that we begin to understand those incidents we thought were isolated, turn out to be a whole lot more. For some of us it's the whole of our lives. Choose to walk away.

  1. For this reason it's difficult to be around my dad. He always seems angry about something or with someone.

Once he develops a grudge against someone, he won't let it go. His angry mood has scared my siblings away from him. It has affected me too, but I make the effort to see him occasionally.

    1. Thanks Maria. It's always difficult for us to see things when we're literally in the thick of things and it's only when we come to look back that we actually see what emotionally we've had to put ourselves through.

I'm not sure if I had my time again I would have been able to make different choices given my parentage; but there was one time I did walk away and I had three weeks of bliss with no stress at all, so it clearly can work.

I think for our sanity this is what we must do, although I understand how hard it is.

  2. Yes, the majority of the chaos and strife in the world is caused by people who are always so angry.

If more people would choose to just walk away, the world would be a much better place. A couple of things come to mind; "hurt people hurt people!" and "You don't have to go to every fight you're invited to."

I was around a lot of people like this as a child so it isn't much of a surprise that I would still subconsciously choose to associate with these kind of people! Now I'm well aware of this weakness so I can consciously remind myself that I don't have to deal with people that are always angry and choose to walk away.

    1. Thanks Randy, yes I believe we can choose to walk away. Just because we've lived our life one way, doesn't mean we can't change and decide to walk away.

Of course all of our circumstances are different; it's not always possible to walk away and although I didn't always have a chance to walk away, I would always endeavour to say what I needed to say, to try to bring more calm back into my life.

Although that's not always easy to do, I think more of us should.
