The UK Government's handling of Covid-19 is adding to mental health problems in young adults and children. Other groups are also struggling with mental health issues.
Having a disability in Covid
People with physical and mental disabilities are being overlooked. What about other groups who struggle with mental health? Mental health doesn’t just affect young adults, there are many other groups, who are being overlooked.
In the early days of Covid I struggled to get to grips with the virus. I struggled to sleep, to eat and found it hard to motivate myself, made worse because there was confusion and little understanding of how the virus was spreading. Just thinking about going out for a walk made me anxious.
My 'anxiety struggles'
Whilst I have always struggled with anxiety because I deal with autism, my anxiety through Covid is worse than it was, before we went into it. We are living through a covid era. The way it is being handled is making me feel anxious and stressed.
The world is sick and we need it and us to heal. In Covid, we should work together to lessen its effects, so that help is there for those who are feeling mentally isolated and alone.
Mental health problems in lockdown
Covid doesn't just affect us physically, lockdown has brought about issues for many of us, including people who already have a predisposition to mental health problems. Older people in care homes are also struggling.

I read somewhere that the mental health consequences of the pandemic are expected to be the most long lasting.
I am sure we have all felt overwhelmed by the uncertainty, the worries and disruption to daily life and this is even more difficult to deal with for those who already struggle with mental health.
Your blog has been and continues to be a wonderful resource for anyone during the pandemic, but especially for help and advice on mental health and I too would heartily recommend both your site and book to everyone looking for support during the pandemic or not.
Thanks, it has never been more important than it is now for us all to deal with our mental health and both my blog and book is instrumental as you say.
Whilst reading fiction is a form of escapism in Covid times, we will still come back to mental health issues in these times and will need to deal with those.
'Your blog has been and continues to be a wonderful resource for anyone during the pandemic, but especially for help and advice on mental health and I too would heartily recommend both your site and book to everyone looking for support during the pandemic or not' - thank you, yes my book is perfect for that.
It's also a book that you can dip in and out of, and is perfect for Covid19 and beyond. I hope people will buy my book, as it will help them through this difficult and challenging times.
People haven't been taking the pandemic very seriously, and which has made things difficult for everyone.
It is yet another case of if you can't see the problem then it doesn't exist, like mental health issues. What will it take for people to do the right thing?
So many groups are being overlooked as if we aren't important, while others are getting the vaccine which I would have to assume they're paying a fortune for.
Governments need to focus on getting everyone vaccinated as soon as possible, seeing as that's the only way we're going to reduce the virus.
My mental health issues are slowly getting worse thanks to being in quarantine with a couple of Nervous Nelly's. I hope things overall will get better very soon before they get worse.
Thanks Randy. Yes, it very much looks like that from the outset, but I also think they are incompetent also.
That said, there is no precedent set for this, but if politicians were to throw common sense in for good measure and they followed scientific advice to the letter, the world will have a chance to heal. We must also play our part and be sensible about how we interact.
Mental health at the moment is a real issue for many people, across many groups of people, of all ages. I hope things also get easier for you Randy and that you stay safe and well.
