Covid and Brexit isn't our karma, but with issues bubbling away under the surface, many of us are struggling to deal with both simultaneously.

Different choices could have been made with handling by the government, and now they’re being urged to deliver on their promise to ‘level up’ to reduce the divide North and South.

Karma by default

The karma I talk about is different from our own. Their karma becomes ours by default, us getting caught up in the crossfire of government decisions, that don't concur with what the universe expects, decisions that are beyond our control.

Where regional equalities are on the increase and unemployment is happening due to Covid, it’s driving society further apart. The divide has never been greater. We’re also hearing debates about a child’s life being more valuable than someone in their 90’s, because they have their whole life ahead of them.

We are all equal

As far as the universe is concerned, we are all equal. One death to Covid is a death too many. Where opinions are divided and being directed at specific groups, it says a lot about those who are directing those opinions.

When anyone dies it's a tragedy – that person belonged. Lives matter. Anyone homeless that dies on the street, matters. They belonged to a family before they were made homeless. Things can change in the blink of an eye. Attitudes must change, we must start thinking differently about what everything means.

Politicians speaking from their parapets

It is difficult when politicians speak from their parapets and unconsciously continue to think they know or understand our lives, when the reality is they know very little about the difficulties people face in every day life.

Our mental and emotional stability needs to be protected

No matter what, our mental and emotional stability needs to be protected. The Government have sole responsible for making decisions for us, and they need to put us first – our lives have meaning, and we matter.

There is no excuse for the stress they're putting us under through their decision making process. Sowing a seed for change. (Source: https://www.msn.com   https://timesofindia.com)

  1. If nothing else comes from these terrible times, it is that people see politicians differently; not as serving the good of the public as they promote, but self-serving egotists with their own agendas.

I feel that politics has changed significantly, since the Brexit fiasco in the UK and worldwide, as we also deal with the pandemic. People don't believe the rhetoric anymore.

Also, I am pleased you are writing about such significant issues, and I really would urge people to take part in these important debates on your website.

    1. Thanks. Yes, it helps me to write about these things. I also think it's important to get my thoughts out there, sow a seed for positive change.

I agree with you completely. There is no excuse. Politicians take the public as fools and yet they are the foolish ones, thinking we're fine.

It will just be more of the same rhetoric, from self-serving politicians, who tell us one thing, but through their actions, tell us something different. And until we all come to understand what is blatantly obvious and vote with our feet moving forward at the next general election, nothing will change.

No matter what happens with Covid or Brexit, we must come together and be that support, rather than settle on the divide you talk about in your response.
