I accept I deserved better, although how I got to this place is difficult.
A Quote by Jim Rohn
There is a famous quote by Jim Rohn, ‘If you don’t like where you are, move, you are not a tree.’ As the adult, however hard it is to call the shots, we have to find a way to call the shots. When it came to my childhood, living with something I didn't know I had, it became even more important. I should have had that, I didn’t get that. I've had to work it all out on my own.
Understanding 'The Purpose of Life'
We know we deserve better, when we understand our lives and have worked it out. The lessons I’ve had to work through to get to this place have allowed me to understand why I deserved better.
Self-Realisation
We have to work through things. What I have achieved through my blog particularly, wasn’t handed to me on a plate, it’s one which I’ve had to continually work on and for. I learned the hard way, through self-realisation that I deserved better.
You deserve better
And although it takes time for us to begin to understand we deserve better, we become less confused about why we put up with certain situations. It is important to work it out. However, it is possible to stop making excuses for people who treat you badly, they don’t deserve your time or energy.
You may never get a 'sorry'
But deserving better doesn’t mean you’ll get your sorry. Instead, through your experiences, you get to understand the importance of letting go and moving on.
Just because something was right for you in the past doesn’t mean it still is.
Holding on is like believing that there’s only a past, but letting go and moving on is knowing in your heart that there’s a future ahead that we are deserving of.
Yes, you've used a good analogy. I also think it depends on our circumstances, if what happens to us is the right thing to happen.
We hold on because we're afraid to let go whether we think we deserve better or not. We're also afraid of the unknown, so rather than change our lives, we stick with the familiar.
