Writing is a profession with many authors writing to earn a living. For me, I initially started writing after a late cerebral palsy diagnosis, so that I could do something positive for the first time. It has become my vocation.

My writing helps me to understand what I deal with. Through my books, I have understanding, acceptance and closure. I didn't wake up one day and just choose to write for the 'hell of it'. My writing has brought me a purpose.

My positive writing experiences

Writing has been a hugely positive experience and having endorsements from both parents is even better. I continue to write because it is good for my mental health and along the way I hope I can sell a few books! There is something in there for everyone.

Understanding myself in a way I never could without writing, has brought a certain calm into my life, a calm I didn’t have before.

Earning as an independent author

When it comes to being an independent author, independent authors versus celebrity author, it is difficult for our work to be taken seriously. Where celebrities are can have the guarantee their books will sell because they are a name, we can only hope.

Writing and Mental health

In Covid-19 with mental health taking a complete nose dive, it's hard to tell how my books are doing, but my books are different to my blog and in the pandemic, both are perfect for emotional and mental health. I would be grateful for the support.

  1. It must be enormously difficult for you to earn a living as an independent writer, especially as you give of your time freely and we all benefit from The CP Diary.

The least we can do is to show how much we appreciate everything you do for so many and to buy your books. They are a remarkable achievement. I would implore anyone who cares about their mental and emotional health, to buy your books.

    1. Thank you for the shout out. Hoping so... all I can do is hope that people will choose to support me.

As an independent rather unknown writer, I would love people to get behind me and support me by buying my books.
