Ego changes ideology, changes our perceptions. Because the ego changes our ideologies, it changes us and how we live our lives. How we see the world through our egos will never be the same as if we’re living without the ego. Without the ego, our lives can be more balanced, fair and successful.
Using the Ego
The more we use the ego, the more it will make us confrontational, because it speaks for us. If used continually it can make us self-righteous, where we think we’re the best, we can solve every problem, where we think we're always right.
Ideologies
I don't work from my ego. Ideologies shape our core beliefs, who we become and that’s okay as long as we don’t work from the ego. It can appeal to those who in challenging times, who don’t feel confident in themselves. Without the ego, means we can struggle less. Without the ego, life can work out better, we can be more successful, with the ego we may have no control over our outcomes. The ego controls.
Ego wasn't something that I ever troubled myself with with, since as I didn't have much of one. Putting others first, created a lifetime of problems as I wasn't doing what I wanted to do, so I was miserable.
Through my mother's ego, she preached like she was a saint, when in fact she was one of the worst sinners, but was still supposed to take care of us and didn't want to.
Thanks to AA, 'EGO' stands for 'Easing God Out' which is something that I have to try to avoid doing, seeing as it always makes my life so much more difficult.

Being a people pleaser changes us. What you had was never ideal, but you understand it all now and that's good.
Like me, you can't change your past, but it is your turn to change and turn your own life around and make good where your mum/parents failed.
