So true! I think having things makes you worry more.
You can't go on holiday without worrying that something will happen to what you have at home. You just have to think that it's just stuff. You can't take it with you.
Thanks Lisa. I think there is an element of truth in what you say, but from my experience I think if we're that way inclined we'll worry more regardless of whether we have more or less in our lives.
Our personality traits have a lot to do with the way we cope with our lives at the end of the day.
I really appreciate this inspirational quotation, (Everything and nothing).
I have met many people in my part of the world who simply live their lives for the acquisition of material things. Stuff.
But I don't think the fear is relegated to losing just something, I think the fear is the possibility of losing everything and realizing you had nothing to begin with.
I agree people like to have 'stuff' in their lives. We live in a materialistic world. It's a hard one Tim. I believe our fear comes from having had everything, then suddenly losing everything.
If we have nothing, we have nothing to fear or be disappointed by. If we have everything we have everything to fear by association of having.
At the end of the day material things are not important, but unfortunately today's society puts so much emphasis on the latest phones, games console, car etc that children grow up with a very warped sense of what is really important in life.
Having the freedom to do anything without the fear of losing it, is an inspirational and wonderful thing. Great post!

I have a friend who has not had much in his life. He has never complained about what he doesn't have. Great attitude. He has a heart of gold.
If he is your friend there is nothing he would not do for you. He has helped me out a lot over the years.
I am pleased you have him in your life Randy.
He who has the most toys win. Wins what?

I love that quotation and agree completely.
