"As I continue to reflect on my personal journey, acceptance is about finding a deeper understanding of my experiences and how those experiences have shaped me and coming to terms with what's been done.
As I continue to weave out a narrative where disbelief is still there, it's easier said than done. I am aware the scars of my disability tell a story – a story of resilience, courage, in the pursuit of trying to find peace. Each entry in The CP Diary serves as a reminder that I am not defined by my experiences or disability, but rather by how I have been able to respond to those. Coming to terms with no acceptance or discussion from my parents, on a disability I didn't know I had, closes the door on any closure, but it is necessary for me to understand that with acceptance there is no closure.
Learning to let go of what's done and what can never be changed is forcing me to rethink how I can achieve peace. I've lived with fear that I have never spoken about. There is also no quick fix on experiences that spanned decades. The CP Diary can be a step towards anyone looking for explanations – that no matter our story or experiences, each of our stories and experiences matter. Although I still continue to struggle, it is important I am able to achieve acceptance. The more I learn the more I am held back.
Still, as I continue to write about my personal journey, I choose hope, it's weaved into the fabric of who I am. It's something I still continue to hold on to. In any event, I hope that writing through my struggles on a difficult past, will show others they are also not alone. Keep reading my blog."
