I never gloss over anything. If I’m struggling I’ll tell you I’m struggling. If I’ve got a problem with someone, I'll tactfully find a way to say what I feel. I have always believed it’s the best policy.

I see the past as it happens and see the present as it unfolds. We will always be thrown into a false sense of security, when we choose to see people better than they were and circumstances better than they are. We need to see and be able to deal with the truth, how things really are.

Always see things as they are and not how you want them to be, just because you think it’s easier. The sad reality is that these things never stay easy. They will eventually become more difficult to deal with.

  1. In my case I don't gloss things over with people I am most comfortable with. I say how I truly feel concerning a situation or something that was said that bothered me.

It's totally different with my birth family, since I don't feel comfortable with them. I don't bother to say things how they actually are since I feel they don't care about what I go through.

    1. Thanks Maria. It's great that you choose not to gloss things over with the people you care about and know they care about you. To know they care makes what we deal with so much easier.

I can understand why you behave in the opposite way with your family because they don't care. I have had that too.

  2. I try to look at the bright side of things when sometimes the bright side is just not there.

I've glossed over facts and turned the other cheek avoiding confrontation with the truth because I didn't want to see it. This blog brings back memories of mistakes made and lessons learned.

    1. Thanks Tim. Yes I'm sure we've all done the same. I think it's good when we make mistakes and learn from them. That way we grow, emotionally and spiritually.

  3. I've chosen to ignore things I could have addressed, but did this for good reason so I guess that is glossing over things too, but in context I consider it was the right thing to do at the time.

I tend to make a balanced judgement and sometimes turning the other cheek can be an appropriate course of action too. It's all part of the learning curve I guess.

    1. We will always interpret things differently. I believe that when we choose not to address something and we do it for good reason, We're making an informed choice, based on our circumstances.

We gloss over when we continue to say something is better than it really is. I do agree that all our decisions are our learning curve.
