My father once said when he had sciatica and he was laid up in bed for 6 weeks that when you’re ill your pretty much on your own. I don’t want to give up writing. I am struggling with Eagle Syndrome, brain fog has become all too common place and I need your help!

The Writing Industry and Independent Authors

With continual facial pain, it’s getting more and more difficult to concentrate, to write. But the writing industry has changed also, and writers and independent authors are struggling to find their place amongst the wider public. Also, with what has happened in the pandemic, our voices are going unheard. It's the worst time to publish; to be a writer, an independent author writing about mental health.

Your Support Will Help Me Continue To Write

I am not well known, but I am doing my best to keep everything together and I need your help.Your support will give me a reason to continue with my column, with my writing.

My Writing Challenges

With my changing health, and with Eagle Syndrome, writing now has become very much a challenge. But my writing isn’t just for me, anyone can own my topics. My writing column help us to think about our lives, about change, so that we can work on change.

If you want to see and read more of my writing, that can help with your mental and emotional health, please help me to continue to make a difference. Please help by reading and responding on my column.

As an independent author I rely on goodwill and people kindly spreading the word. Please help support. If you fancy grabbing copies of my books, they are available to purchase on my website https://www.thecpdiary.com/my-books/

  1. I know that I'm not the greatest at commenting every day, but I'm going to have to do better. You have been very inspirational to me, so I'm more than happy to return the favor!

I know what it's like when you need a lot of support but you don't really get a lot of it! Please keep up the great work and happy to chat anytime that you may need to.

    1. Thanks Randy! Yes, it's hard to believe that we have both had a life where we've needed the mental health support. We both know what mental health looks and feels like.

It is getting harder for me to continue, that is no word of a lie. I am so happy that what I write about resonates and helps you. I know the hoops you've been through, because I have been through similar hoops.

Keep up the good fight. I say fight because since the pandemic, life is inevitably changed. For those who are high risk, there is still an element of uncertainty. Life looks and feels different. Society is less approachable I feel.

I am here for you too. Stay well. I look forward to seeing more of your responses. Take care of you.

  2. I can only endorse Ilana's comments in her blog here. Everyone who reads Ilana's blog, benefits hugely from Ilana's dedication, time and expertise, all of which she gives selflessly.

The least we can all do is to help her to continue to help us, by taking part and responding to her articles here. I would go one step further to also endorse Ilana's books.

We will only have ourselves to blame, if the decision had to be taken to discontinue with the site, due to a lack of engagement by those who benefit.

    1. Thank you. Everything's changed so has people's thinking on mental health and not for the better.

I would implore people to pick up on their mental health, and to be proactive. It's too late when illness sets in.

I have seen first hand what happens when you think you're keeping up okay on your mental health and then cancer sets in.

Mental health escapes no one. Please help me to support you. Thank you.
