In the pandemic, we’re not living in the way we used to. We’re reminded every day by government decisions, that we should continue to be careful, to be mindful of a virus that we can't see, that has claimed millions of lives.

The care-free days where you could go out and not think about your physical health are long gone. Those days are now replaced with us having to be mindful, to know that we can get caught off guard.

Tripple-jabbed

Tripple-jabbed, doesn’t means you’re safe or 100% protected, because you can still catch and spread Covid. It simply means you should continue to be mindful on how you go about your life. Although you have some protection from the vaccine, the protection it gives, continues to deplete through the days and months ahead, until your next jab.

In the pandemic, on my blog, I talk about mental health more than I ever have. Having dealt with mental health issues since I was a child, I know how mental health works. Any issue can manifest itself through mental health. Although 2 years in and life is somewhat orderly now, through the airborne virus, I am still living in fight or flight mode.

Fight or flight mode, is a response that refers to a physiological reaction that occurs when something terrifying happens, either physically or mentally. It’s hard not to be mentally, emotionally or physically affected by Covid on some level.

Be open and honest

Be open and honest about how you feel, how you're coping. The pandemic has touched and continues to touch and affect many people's lives. The key is for you to be open and honest. We're not, instead we're closed and shut off. It's business as usual as we're choosing not to talk about mental health.

For others they may feel anxious because they know what is happening is affecting them, but they’re not always able to articulate how they feel. Through media reports, it has been suggested, we have become more closed, shut off, separate and divided.

The human species is changed and we're ignoring mental health and that's to our cost. This is exactly the time we need to be dealing with mental health.

2 comments on “Ignoring Mental Health in Covid-19”

  1. It's not surprising the pandemic has caused us to have feelings of anxiety and stress. We have simply never lived through anything like this since before.

There are lots of tips out there to help us looking after our mental health, but none come close to your books, which are a unique source of self-care, help and guidance which should be on everyone's bookshelf.

In Covid-19, your books are not only a source of inspiration, but they are an important element of helping with mental health. I can't stress that enough. I implore everyone to pick up a copy.

    1. Thanks. Yes, mental health has always been on the back-burner; in Covid-19 mental health needs to be championed.

I will continue to champion mental health through my blog, and also implore others to buy my books. I know what my books can do for mental health and how much they can help. (The proceeds of my book will go to mental health charities).

You only have to look out at what is happening in the world, to understand why it is important to have good mental health. Good mental health comes when we work on ourselves, on our inner being, our inner self.

My books are my 'bible' and an avenue to a healthier and happier life.
