It doesn’t matter whether we’re ordinary, or we live in the public domain, it's still the easiest thing in the world for us to comment or pass judgment on another person’s life and circumstances.
But unless our life is perfect, I’m not sure any of us are really in a position to comment, but that is exactly what we do. As individuals, only we really know our circumstances and what we have to deal with and if there is anything we can do to challenge or change those circumstances.
When we’re on the outside looking in, it doesn’t help us understand the thought process behind the history and what that person has had to deal with, as Robin Williams and Peaches Geldof’s case has shown. I’m really not sure any of us are in a position to judge.
I totally agree. We shouldn't judge others when we don't know the circumstances and then we still shouldn't really judge.

It is all too easy to judge others, usually by projecting our own values, when we really shouldn't. We often aren't aware of the circumstances and in any case who are we to judge, period.

Even though we think we know the circumstances, we invariably don't. I believe we are all judged individually for our actions in this life, therefore it's not up to us to judge to stand in judgment of someone else.
Life is tough enough without others casting an opinion on us.
"Judge not, lest ye be judged!" Yes, it seems like people are so quick to judge when they have no idea of what they're talking about!
I've dealt with a lot of the same issues as Robin Williams, so I can truly say I identify with his pain. I just think it's truly a sad world where his daughter was basically harassed online, to the point she had to shut down her accounts.
I consider what they're doing to be speaking ill of the dead which is one of the worst things to do. The one good thing that may come out of this, is that it puts a spotlight on real issues that people have to deal with!
Thanks Randy. Yes I think it does put a spotlight on the real issues that people have to deal with around such things as depression and mental illness. The problem we have though, is that people's memories are short.
People in general will forget until the next time something happens... as is the case with Robin Williams and Peaches Geldof before him.
The chickens eventually come home to roost when we judge people. And Karma has a way of visiting us when we least expect it.
It takes a heart to place ourselves in other peoples circumstance's and understand their pain. And no one is exempt from experiencing the same pain as the people we judged.
You're absolutely right. To judge is to be judged... when we judge chickens will eventually come home to roost. It's how the universe works, whether we believe in the universal laws or not.
