For the past 15 years, I’ve shared my thoughts through The CP Diary. Writing has become more than just expression – it’s how I’ve processed emotions, made sense of my past, and found acceptance on my trauma. It’s given me clarity I never thought I’d have.
I’ve had to dig deep. Writing helps me unravel complicated emotions. It allows me to acknowledge painful experiences and confront what has been an incredibly difficult life. For years, I lived without knowing I had a disability – without a diagnosis, without understanding.
Now, knowing I’m autistic, writing offers a release. It helps ease anxiety and reduce stress. It helps me breathe.
Through writing, I’ve created a mental space where words become tools – tools for explanation, for reflection, and for moments of peace. They help me process not just emotions, but the weight of my experiences.
There have been times when writing has felt too raw, too uncomfortable. But still, it was necessary. And in all of that, I find comfort knowing that my personal blog has opened the door to truths I had buried for too long. Truths that sit a little better now.
I’ve had to own trauma that was never mine to carry. But facing it has been part of the healing.
Trauma may not disappear entirely. It can resurface and feel difficult to face. But even in those moments, we must remind ourselves: we still have power. We still have authority over our own lives. And through writing, reflection, and truth – we can reclaim that.
