  1. I like this quote, because who are we to judge others, but flawed individuals ourselves. I know the kindest hearted people don't always wear their heart on their sleeve.

I usually get to know a person better before coming to a full conclusion.

    1. Thanks Maria. Yes I'm not sure any of us are in a position to judge, yet that is what we do. It doesn't matter how long it takes to get to know someone, but to really know someone we need to understand the soul.

Appearances can often be deceiving. People will often change their character through their negative experiences. I will go into more detail later, but It's our understanding on how to read one's soul that matters. That is where you will often find a person's true character.

Unfortunately we tend to base our decisions on getting to know someone on outward appearances, as this quote rightly points out.

  2. Yes, so many people will judge a book by it's cover which quite often is wrong!

I grew up being judged as poor white trash, so I know very much what that's like. I like the expression, 'let he who is without sin cast the first stone!' I grew up being force-fed religion and saw how many people in the church led such double lives, so I know appearance doesn't always mean so much of anything.

It seems like most people now are more concerned about their appearances, than really helping out their fellow man. I just find it really sad and to be the cause of so many troubles in the world.

    1. Thanks Randy. All we can really do is change the way we see people so that we don't stand in judgment of others.

We become more aware when we've been through some of those experiences ourselves, which having read your response, you clearly have. I'm sorry you had to go through those experiences. It's not something a child should have to experience.

  3. Nice quote and one which I have certainly found to be very true. Many people in my life are better for the knowing.

  4. I have never relied on the good graces of other people to look past appearances and judge me for the depth of my soul. The true version of me is hard to see by someone who refuses to see me in the first place.

People judge others based on deliberate ignorance and foregone conclusions to make themselves feel superior.

    1. Thanks Tim. I agree with you. It seems that in this fast paced world we live in, it's very rare for people to take the time to get to know us, never mind look into our souls.

I'm not sure how much of is a time factor, or a care factor, and agree with you when you say, people judge others based on their own ignorance and foregone conclusions to make themselves feel better.

If that we're me, my conscience would quickly get the better of me. For some though, that doesn't seem to be a problem. We would all be in a much better place if we took more time to care, to get to know people and less time standing in judgment.

  5. Nowadays people can be very shallow and judge people for stupid reasons, like for example the way they dress. That's all superficial. What matters is how an individual is as a person.
