I’ve dealt with trauma. I’ve struggled to achieve things, but it was only when I took myself in hand and started to work through a disability I didn't know I had, that things began to change.

I had to wait until the time was right, but I've done it. If the shoe were on the other foot, it would have been something considered. Writing has changed my outlook. I cannot say everything is completely rosy, but sharing my thoughts, writing about my experiences and blogging in the way that I do, is helping me work through my experiences.

Through my writing, I focus and continue to change the way I perceive things. My outlook can after all these years finally change.

  1. Writing or journaling our thoughts is very therapeutic. I wish I could do it. I can't get my thoughts on paper. I know what I want to write but getting it out of my head is a different thing. It's some sort of disability.

My daughter has the same problem. The doctor said it was a learning disability.

I'm so glad you can do and have this outlet. Your site has helped me a lot. I have been better at expressing myself and getting my thoughts down here. Thank you!!

    1. Thanks Lisa. I believe it is therapeutic to journal our thought out. It helps us make sense of our lives; as long as we're not always writing about negative things. I think we have to have a balance.

I am so pleased the site and what I write helps you too!!

  2. Writing my feelings down has always helped me solve a problem.

You have done a great service to all of us who need your wise words to help us cope with the ups and downs of this crazy life living with CP.

    1. Thank you for the compliment Randy. It means a lot to me to hear that I am helping you in that way. What I write also helps me in so many other ways too.

It's great that by writing down your thoughts you manage to sort out whatever it is you're dealing with. Stick to your winning formula, whatever works for you.

  3. The right time to turn things around in your life started way before you actually discovered that you did. Making changes and adjustments is a repetitive necessity in the growth process.

But you have not only made changes in your life, but you have helped others to change as well. You went from little to no confidence, to incredible leadership abilities, in spite of.

As for me, I am work in progress!

    1. Thanks Tim!! I agree with you completely that making changes and adjustments is a repetitive necessity in the growth process, but well worth the effort.

I love your honesty about where you are. Work in progress is good! It very much means you've taken your very first steps in the process of change and you've managed it. It's to be embraced!! Not everyone will change, or not everyone will want or manage to change.

The other difficult part is recognition. We often fail to recognise our own need for change.
