Something inspirational:

"Maturity is the ability to stick with a job until it’s finished, the ability to do a job without being supervised… the ability to carry money without spending it and the ability to bear an injustice without wanting to get even."

  1. I've had to really work on achieving maturity over the past few years.

I've had to deal with things like taking care of my mother's affairs when she was passing which was very difficult. It can be a very painful process when you're in your 40's and finally having to grow up.

I know there's plenty more ahead to deal with, but that's all part of being an adult. I'm sure I will survive through these many trials!

    1. I know how you feel. The process of growing up and having to be mature can be very difficult. There's no guide book. It doesn't matter how long it takes just as long as you get there.

As a mature adult there's always something to deal with. We tend to work things out as we go along. I'm know you'll survive the transition.

  2. That's a great saying and I especially like the last bit. Ive never found the first two things difficult to do but in recent years and circumstances I find that I am still working on the last.

    1. Yes it is. I agree that the last part of the quote is the hardest to achieve.

I do think that some circumstances make it harder for us to let go of an injustice without wanting to get even over it. For some people of course, it will depend on the injustice. I am lucky in that my beliefs help me let go of needing to get even.

Pleased to hear you're working on the last!

  3. Yes I agree. I don't believe maturity has anything to do with age; it is to do with your approach on life and how you handle difficult situations.

    1. I like your response. Don't you find with age comes a better understanding, but for us to understand things a little better we need to be mature? Just a thought!

  4. I totally agree with this. My children show their immaturity by doing the opposite of these things.

    1. It's a shame Lisa. May be one day as your children mature further, they will turn some of this around. One lives in hope!
