Why is it that mental health is rarely talked about now the pandemic isn't being discussed? Since all restrictions have been lifted in the UK, I haven’t heard anyone talk about mental health. On social media, politics is still making headlines.
Effects of the Pandemic
We have all been mentally affected by the pandemic. Countless families have been touched by it. I continue to write about mental health on my blog. In the first year of the pandemic, anxiety and depression on a global scale increased by 25% according to a scientific brief by The World Health Organisation ('WHO.') (Source: https://www.who.int)
Making Mental Health a priority
Mental health is a struggle and without us being the lead in our own narrative and mental health being made a priority, mental health shall continue to take a back seat which means more illness the other end. Ignoring something doesn't make that something go away.
Talk about 'Mental Health'
The pandemic isn't gone, and it is important to talk about mental health. For anyone who has had Covid, it will also continue to be a mental struggle. It is important to think about how you feel, talk about how you feel. We have all been touched by mental health in the pandemic.
Work on 'Mental Health'
It is important to work on mental health. Without good mental health, you will have little in the way of health and that means less freedom. With work on yourself, you too can turn your back on the things you cannot change, strive for the things you can change, so that you change your life and the lives of those you touch.

Through the media, over the last couple of years, people's struggles with mental health has been clear.
People have lost their minds with what has been going on, but for me this was the way I grew up. We never knew what to expect and usually lived like we were not a part of the world.
Things for me have felt all too familiar which isn't a good thing over all, which is why I have probably been doing better than most others.
I'm finally doing better in my life, to the point of getting back to work, so I can now focus on preparing for the time when I'm too old to do the things I'm doing now...
Thanks Randy. I'm pleased to hear you're doing better. Yes, when it comes to trauma, our experiences can bring up feelings that seem all too familiar, or maybe we're just used to having to deal with traumatic experiences.
There is no doubt the pandemic has been traumatic, but I'm pleased things have got easier for you. Right now, the life I had no longer exists and that continues to be my mental struggle.
But still hopeful something will turn itself around. Lifting restrictions for the most vulnerable is unforgiveable. When you look back in history, being institutionalised (and that is what this is) will not go down well for them.
While we all needed to get back into our lives, provisions should have been in place for everyone in society, not just a select few.
It's not surprising, mental health has taken a knock and I still continue to struggle over the injustice. That's also a mental health thing.
