Mental health blogs may not get the exposure they deserve because of algorithms on social media, but what is even less visible in the media and on the socials – yet far more important – is how unaddressed mental health issues are and how they can lead to physical illness.

The CP Diary focuses on mental health issues. It explains the correlation between mental health and physical illness, as it continues to address lifestyle and mental health issues. By addressing mental health, we can manage anxiety and other challenges more effectively, creating a stronger foundation for overall health and wellbeing.

Illness and Disease

Hearing about anyone with cancer through the media – the most recent Sir Chris Hoy – reminds us that illness and disease can arise unexpectedly, no one is free of illness of mental health issues. This only reinforces the importance of addressing mental health with the same seriousness. Mental health is still overlooked, yet it continues to play such a crucial role in helping us manage life’s challenges, whether those challenges are physical, emotional, or mental.

Mental Health and Why I Write About It

As I continue to write, to focus on health, wellbeing, lifestyle and mental health, I hope my readers will stay on top of their mental health. Given my heritage and the fact I also deal with autism, I am not far from mental health. With good mental health, we can better handle anxiety, stress and any other obstacles that comes our way. With all the difficulties playing out in the world currently, it has become even more important to deal with mental health.

It’s not just about being prepared for what we know, but for the uncertainties that life brings. In prioritising mental health, we give ourselves the best chance to navigate whatever comes our way with good health, resilience and strength.

Dedicated to Sir Chris Hoy.
