“You can't save a person who doesn't want to be saved. It was like Mr. Eddie always told the new gardeners: Everybody's got to kill their own snakes.”- Pearl Cleage, Till You Hear From Me

Just what is it going to take? With a continued decline in mental health, this quote rings true. Mental health doesn’t wait, issues that we didn’t think were issues can become issues in the blink of an eye. In a global pandemic, mental health has declined. I’m just wondering what it’s going for attitudes to change towards mental health?

We've had a decade of change in just 2 years. Health and Social Care Secretary Sajid Javid spoke at the Global Mental Health Summit 2021. (Source: https://www.gov.uk/)

According to Fox News (Source: https://www.ktvu.com) Covid-19 was the third leading cause of death in 2021, in the US, CDC reports, after heart disease and cancer.

The Reports:

ATLANTA - Two new reports by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in United States, found Covid-19 was the third leading cause of death in 2021.

The first report presents an outline of mortality rates for 2021, which included a comparison of death rates for all causes of death and for deaths involving Covid-19.

After adjusting the data for age, the study found the overall death rate increased by almost 1% in 2021, compared to 2020, and that Covid-19 was the third leading primary cause of death in 2021 for the second year since the disease emerged, after heart disease and cancer, which are still on top. Both of which are synonymous with stress and mental health.

Covid-19 Is The Third Leading Primary Cause Of Death

Covid-19 is the third leading primary cause of death in 2021, which means heart disease and cancer are still top, both of which are linked to mental health, which needs to be our number one priority.

Heart disease and cancer are diseases that in most cases can be avoided through us dealing with mental health. The stats on my own website are also proving a decline in mental health.

I am sure we all know of someone, maybe more than one person who is fighting or has died of cancer. Mental health decline rates are up. I have had 3 family members close to me touched by Cancer.

I’m just wondering what it’s going to take for the world population to take control of their mental health? It’s too late when you have heart disease from stress and/or you have cancer.
