I believe having brain damage has contributed to my potential problems with Dyspraxia. Up until recently I have found out that certain members of my extended family have difficulties between left and right and other issues.

Having something to draw on for now, gives me an understanding that I didn’t have before, but I understand more now why things have been a struggle.

I never walk away when things get tough. I tend to go back in to find solutions. After a difficult weekend, I will continue to work on things. That part never changes.

  1. I'm very glad to hear that you're learning more about your condition and it sounds like it has been helping you.

I know that it can be very difficult when you don't really understand what the problem is, especially when you grow up in a world where people don't want to talk about it.

Just keep up the good work!

  2. I think most people have different reactions with different things.

Like with diabetes, some people with type 1 have all kinds of problems and others have no effects from it except the usual blood sugar problems.

I've had it 40 years and the only problem I've had so far has been with my eyes which was precipitated by the pregnancy pressure. My physician has several patients like me and then he has patients that have all kinds of problems due to diabetes.

As parents we can deal with us having a problem but when it comes to children it's heart breaking to see them with the same problem. I guess we know what they are going through if we have the same problem and can relate to them more.

I also think the more we research and understand, the more ammunition we'll have to help ourselves.
