We have a choice, we can either choose to ignore and pretend a situation or issue doesn’t exist, or we can open the door and let the past teach us what we need to learn. The past resurrects itself whether we’re ready for it, or not.
The past can knock of us off course
The past resurfaces, if we’ve left issues behind that we’ve not dealt with, but what reappears can be subtle, or it may knock us off course. In some cases, it may change our lives forever.
The past can trigger memories that are unpleasant, or it could be a situation where you are tempted to step into a self-sabotaging cycle that you worked to free yourself from.
'The past' is there to teach us
But the past is there to teach us our lessons, it is karma and karma doesn’t want you to fear it. It’s also not something to be feared, or avoided. In many respects, the lessons from the past should be integrated in our present, so that we may change certain aspects of our lives.
The past is our reminder
The past appears as a reminder, a lesson of how much we have spiritually and emotionally grown. It is an open door to new and better opportunities, it's an opportunity for you to be kind to yourself, and to make yourself a priority.
The past is part of the present
For those who choose to ignore the past, the past may stay unresolved. Unless we learn to deal with our issues, those issues can come back and karma will deal its hand, in some cases worse the second time.
Karma
Although we may not always understand karma and how karma works, some of us may find we’re living our karma this side of life. Depending on what we have done, karma doesn’t always wait to serve its unwelcoming hand.
Karma is something that I have often wondered about, as my life was always affected by everyone else's toxicity.
We were treated poorly, by my mother's own family, but nobody ever really explained why. They talk about 'the sins of the father,' but I don't think that my father ever did anything so horrible for us to be treated that way.
Growing up like that, eventually made me think that I deserved to suffer through my life, rather than actually live it and the ones that I loved the most paid the price for the mistakes that I made because of it.
Now that I have accepted that I don't deserve that kind of karma, I can move on, leave that behind and change things for the future!
Thanks Randy. Yes, children do get caught up in their parents and family's crossfire to the point where they begin to feel they must have something to do with their parents split, or their parents behaviour.
You were not responsible then, or are not responsible for that and I know 'spirit' know that. That said, how we go on to live our lives now, can have a knock on effect on us, in terms of karma, but that changes, when our behaviour changes.
If what we do and continue to do, karma think is unacceptable, it will always come back to tell us and in most cases will simply intervene.
