Something inspirational:

“The most important kind of freedom is to be what you really are. You trade in your reality for a role. You give up your ability to feel, and in exchange, put on a mask.”

  1. I agree with this. So many people mask to try to fit in and cover up who they really are. Trying to be someone else doesn't bring happiness.

  2. I have never tried to fit in. As a result I am my own person. There will never be another 'me.' I beat the drum to my own tune.

    1. It's always good to fit in to your own life rather than fit into another person's life. I believe though that because of society and the way society works that can also prove to be difficult.

As with all things though there is always a balance to achieve. Being too independent can also have its own pitfalls.

        1. Thanks for being so honest Randy. I personally believe that as we gain more experience, we begin to learn about other people, about those we can trust, about those we can't trust. We also learn which people we truly can be ourselves around and which people we can't.

Those are the little changes we can make. It doesn't mean we have to compromise, it just means we learn how to behave so that we fit in better.

  3. I've never really known what my role in life was supposed to be, so I've spent most of my life living as a chameleon! It makes it very hard to know who I really am after being in this role for so long.

Now I'm trying to figure out my role and already feel like I have wasted most of my life living the lies. I'm hoping and praying that this can be changed in the very near future. Only time will tell!

    1. It's not always easy to know what role we're supposed to have Randy. Sometimes we cut out our own roles knowing what we want to do with our lives, or our parents cut out a role for us! I fit into that category, or at least I did. I have changed my own role now.

There comes a time though when it's time to reinvent ourselves for ourselves sake.
