However we personally fail, external challenges can be the reason. It could be that what we were trying to do doing isn’t something we would have instigated yourself, therefore the interest isn't there.

Why personal failings are okay

But personal failings aren’t all bad, particularly when we learn from them and we don’t make the same mistakes twice. Failing should be a stepping-stone for us to go on to something better. We seem to take everything personally, but perhaps there is another way to look at this.

What we take from failing

We learn more about ourselves when we fail, more so than when we succeed. When we succeed, we don't think about the other side. When we succeed, we may become hungry and want more and may stop at nothing until we get what we want.

When it comes to us failing, if we were to stand back on ourselves and ask questions, we would understand more of what we'd done wrong, to understand where we perhaps could have done things differently. Often that's all it takes.

Failing simply means we need to readdress, of which we have complete control. The irony is we all have the power to address our personal failings, but first we must come to understand why we failed.

  1. There is nothing wrong with failure in itself, it is how we cope and change as a result that is important.

I see failure rather as a detour than a dead end, so we should see it as a catalyst for understanding and growth, rather than something negative.

    1. Thanks. Yes, your second paragraph sums up your blog. And that's absolutely right.

Just imagine how much better we and the world would function if we brought understanding and growth into negative situations. Where we continue to see life as negative, life can never work out.
