The pandemic has changed us. For those still struggling and I include myself here, the following may help:

  • Think about a life different to the one you currently have, a life that transcends fear;
  • Open another door and mentally and emotionally walk towards kindness and towards love;
  • Don’t get stuck in the trials and tribulations of your past, what 'she said, he said;'
  • Understand;
  • Let it go;
  • Meditate;
  • Transcend towards ‘spirituality;’
  • Find your purpose;
  • Think about peace of mind;
  • A place of peace
  • Think about tranquility;
  • And discard all else because it’s not important;
  • Practising spirituality is a lifestyle choice, one that can bring about the most peace.

When Understanding Doesn't Bring Closure

When healing comes without the apology I think one of the hardest things to accept is that the ending doesn't always come in the form we spent years imagining. We think there will be a final conversation, a moment ...

  1. It appears that you're screaming a desperate plea for people to stop continuing life as if nothing is happening, under Covid.

    We are drinking champagne and breathing disease at the same time, playing this silly game with our health.

    But The CP Diary puts a face on reality, literally waking us up in our sleep.

    Ilana, thank you for that.

    1. Thanks Tim. Yes, it looks like it, but my pleas are failing, falling silent in the dead of night.

      I will always continue to write for the greater good of humanity, for us to want to see the good in each other; for us to change, to support, to give back.

      Until people begin to actively take control of their lives, no amount of writing from anyone, is going to change their minds and that's silly because disease can strike at any time. Three people in my family have been plagued by mental health issues and cancer. Like my blog helps me, it's here to help others also.

      I write about these things, because it's good for my mental health. Living with autism, it is my way of being able to understand and work through my own mental health issues, to keep myself mentally and emotionally safe. In the pandemic, it has become even more pressing, because it's easy for my mental health to spiral.

      It is difficult to watch people ignore mental health because they think they will be okay. That isn't how mental health works. It's something you have to continually work on.

      Yes, I put a brave face on and as you say Tim, a face on reality. I think people need to hear our words and for our words to sink in. Perhaps our words never will. How many of us really change, even when we know we need to?

      The human race tends to stick to what it knows. People aren't always interested in putting the work in. I'm just wondering what it is going to take. Yes, my words are blunt, and I hate having to be blunt. It's not my way at all.

      It's frustrating to watch. Your words are spot on. My gut is telling me you're not getting this wrong. We need people to listen, we need them to change.

      But I live in hope that others will choose to take control, to take everything on board and change aspects of their lives, so they deal with what they have to deal with and continue to choose to stay safe.

      I am simply giving back to those that continue to need the help. Without putting the hard work in, no one is safe of mental health issues.
