Talking about my life has brought me to a place where I am confident and I am more at peace with my thoughts on my experiences. It is important to put yourself through your paces, because it is vital for your mental health. I put pen to paper, wrote my books, so that I could come through my life, mentally stronger for it. I knew I had a lot of baggage to work through. None of us are free of 'baggage.'
As an empath it's not difficult to see the pain on people's faces. They may not see it themselves, or understand why they feel how they feel. Covid-19 has brought the world to its knees and we're fumbling around in the dark, trying to make the lives we have fit in around a virus we still can't see and one that is continuing to mutate.
The world has let me down, people have let me down, but I didn't let myself down. By not dealing with your emotions, your past, or your issues, YOU'RE LETTING YOURSELF DOWN.
As a general rule, people don't talk about their experiences
As a general rule people don't talk about their experiences, let alone put themselves through their paces. We don't talk about how we feel, but it is important to talk. To bring your past into the present, because the past affects your present and will affect how you are able to have a future.
We should be talking about our experiences
The last three years in the pandemic, far surpass anything I've had to deal with, everything I have experienced and I’m not exaggerating. I've mentally struggled to cope so much, I wrote a book about it. In my book Survival: The Covid Years I recall my experiences in the pandemic, struggling to comprehend the challenges I’ve mentally had to put myself through.
I did the same through learning about and writing about a disability I didn't know I had in Cerebral Palsy: 'A Story' and then put myself through the healing process in 'Spirituality, Healing and Me.' Each of those books have individually and uniquely changed my life. They can for you too.
But what is it really going to take?
But what is it really going to take for the world, the wider population to start dealing with their emotions, deal with their mental health? Considering cancer rates are now 1 in 2 and not 1 in 4, society isn't doing enough to change that. I'm just wondering what it's going to take? A potential cancer diagnosis?
