I re-write perceptions of history every time I write. We haven't all had the perfect childhood, the perfect life and for 12 years now I have made rewriting history an occupation.

I am constantly engaged in a process of evaluating and re-evaluating my past, interpretating my experiences. My books have re-written history.

Learning from the past

It is important to learn from history, from our experiences. History isn’t just about taking notes of how something happened. It is important to understand how you think about the past and your relationship to it. Although the past has happened and is dead, history is very much alive and influencing your present.

Our experiences remain buried

Our experiences remain buried in our psyche. When it comes to our past, we cannot live through our experiences, without holding on to some of them. I take comfort in knowing that I have rewritten my own history, something I never thought would happen.

I write and talk about how things are currently. A different time and different values, doesn't excuse the experiences we're being made to live through in the pandemic. To ignore the facts is to relinquish responsibility.

Cerebral Palsy 'A Story'

I have rewritten my own history, but it's not just something for me. You can write yours too. Cerebral Palsy ‘A Story’ and ‘Spirituality, Healing and Me,’ are self-help books, books that can change the way you look and live your life. Books that can help you to change how you see your lives.

  1. Thank God for your books and your blog, you help change people's perceptions. People need to change their perception of history, seeing as they keep repeating the same mistakes.

They break the rules for those who are considered our betters when that choice, makes things worse for everyone else, as in 'the commoners!'

We have been watching this play out with this pandemic where time after time, certain people do what they want and seem to get away with it while the rest of us suffer.

Life isn't always very fair, but as long as we do what we need to do, at least we can say that we did the right things even when others choose not to!

    1. Thanks Randy! Yes, people by very nature are 'inherently selfish,' but we can always pull back. We can emotionally change and spiritually grow.

Although these issues were happening long before the pandemic, I think the pandemic has tipped the balance and we're seeing more of these selfish behaviour traits.

I hope we can see a change moving forward. I dread to think what will happen in the longer term, if people continue to act selfishly and do as they please.

Governments also aren't helping because they're not bringing people back into line. If anything they're reinforcing that it's okay to be inherently selfish.
