If we're going to speak out, say what we feel, we must say it loud enough for others to hear, to express an opinion on the things that matter to us, on the things we care about.

It’s perfectly acceptable to say something and that’s different to speaking out of turn. But where does one start and the other end and speaking out of turn, is that really how it is? Or is it that where others think we’re speaking out of turn, we’re actually not.

Unless we’re saying something inappropriate, or we don’t have the authority to say what we're saying, we’re not speaking out of turn. When it comes to all things personal, we should be entitled to say how we feel. We’re saying how we feel, not because we choose to get back at someone, unless we are that way, but we genuinely have something to say.

I don’t think we speak out of turn just because someone else thinks that’s what we’re doing. Perhaps they’ve got something to hide, or what we're saying is something they don't want to hear; or perhaps what we're saying they know is right, they just don't want to hear it because we're the ones saying it.

Perhaps they don't want to be reminded, or perhaps they feel threatened by it. Of course, if the shoe were on the other foot, they would speak out if they felt it was necessary.

  1. To me speaking out of turn is saying something we shouldn't have said. But whether we are best to decide whether we shouldn't have said it, or whether the repent is best; is debate.

Simple answer is to say what we mean and mean what we say that way we ought to think about what we say and how we say it and then it should all matter.

    1. Awww thank you. I think your last paragraph sums up your response nicely and yes you're right.

In terms of speaking out of turn, It's important we all think about what we say and how we say it, before we say it. I think more of us get that wrong than we get it right, sadly.
