Emotionally, we never really know what other people go through, how much anxiety they hold on to, or how they feel about what they’re dealing with. I know what I've had to deal with over the years, I just didn't realise how much stress I carried.

We all have a tendency to carry stress, unless we learn to be open about things. As long as we know it's nothing we've done, we can rest in the knowledge that their issue must be down to something else and the problem should get sorted.

Stress if not nipped in the bud can change our personalities, can change us. Whether it’s us dealing with stress or someone around us is dealing with stress, we should hope that positive change comes soon.

What Writing Taught Me About Self-Understanding

  1. Stress can be all encompassing at times and will change us. One phone call brought my stress level up a few notches just this morning. Stress can bring on a variety of health issues, mental and physical.

When we finally bring closure to stressful situations, it feels like a huge weight has been lifted from our shoulders.

You never really know the extent of damage stress has brought to an individual life.

    1. I agree with you.

We don't always know how much damage stress brings to an individual life, but generally we're probably all aware of the amount of stress we have and how we feel physically when we're dealing with stressful situations. We just have to make sure we keep tabs on how much stress we take in.

Stress can change the way we feel about ourselves and other people, particularly when other people make us stressed.

  2. This is a timely post for me! I have experienced unnecessary stress recently since my credit card company decided to take 3 identical transactions out of my account at the same time. The stress I have had trying to sort this out with a call centre in Asia has been huge.

I have told myself this is not my fault and that it will be put right eventually; so I have backed off from the situation. That has helped tremendously.

    1. All stressful situations have an impact, not only for the one dealing with the stressful situation but for those who are around the one dealing with the stressful situation, so it's important to make sure it doesn't spiral out of hand.

I find communication helps put a lid of stressful situations, so they doesn't spiral into something more. Generally people will either say nothing and retreat, or they'll take their stress out on others when they're not coping; or they'll become irritable.

Neither of those situations are good. Being open about what we're dealing with and looking at ways to tackle stress has to be the better options.

  3. I grew up with an extreme amount of stress from a very early age, so I learned early on how to disassociate from my feelings! I lost touch with reality for a very long time and am only now fighting to get back to it while I can.

I would say 90% of the stress in my life has to do with other people's problems. It is a major change considering I used to create so much of it on my own, in my own life.

Now I'm a lot more content not having a lot of chaos in my life which has been a major change!

    1. I understand your comment Randy about 90% of your stress comes from other people's stress. To some extent we all have that, it comes with our lives. Over the years I have learned to deal with issues so that my issues don't get bigger. I find that helps me in other areas of my life too.

Although it's not always easy, I still believe if we learned to deal with and manage our stress better, we would all be looking at different outcomes for ourselves and with each other. I think the main problem is the way we deal and manage our stress.

I'm totally with you on this. I hope you find a resolve and feel better soon.
