The fear we feel is the side of life we live, but unless we work through the fear we feel, we can never get beyond it. What we have the other side of fear is a better emotional space, but without taking our first steps, we may never achieve it.

On the other side of fear sits peace and tranquility, the other side of fear is less stress. The other side of fear is calm, is hope and understanding. The other side of fear is reaching out, understanding ourselves enough to want to give life another go.

The other side of fear is trust. It’s a place that helps to reflect and look back on our experiences, in a way that brings new meaning and understanding.

The other side of fear is where opportunities lie and where our new uncluttered, uncomplicated life resides and where we get to live a more peaceful life.

  1. The other side of fear is faith! I'm pretty sure this is an expression that I heard somewhere in my AA program and it makes sense when I really think about it.

For most of my life I have lived a life ruled by fear. Faith was always a hard thing to come by, seeing as I had tried to believe in something better when I was a kid, but no matter how much I prayed, nothing ever changed.

It seems nearly impossible to even comprehend that I could actually be happy and have as much of a normal life, as is possible under the circumstances. I have already lived through all of the fears in my life and still survived, so there must be a reason.

Now all I have to do is to take that leap of faith and move on with my life, no matter what happens; since there are people who need my help and there is a lot of work to be done in what time I do have left.

    1. Thanks Randy. Yes, in theory you're right, but in practice it may not work, unless we manage to work out the in between bit.

For us to take away fear we must bring calm into the equation, because that settles the mind. It helps to have faith of course, but faith without taking the initial fear away, can't help.

To have faith we must have understanding of the fear that we feel. It also depends on the type of faith. Faith can lead us to another kind of understanding based around religious beliefs, but won't give us the answers on our experiences. Without answers, sadly we won't get past fear.

An innate belief is different of course. As a child although my beliefs weren't as they are today, I innately believed that I would find out what was wrong with me. I didn't know how or when, I just believed I would; but I carried that belief with me and that gave me hope.

The bottom line is that fear comes from issues not yet resolved and unless we deal with those, our daily issues will continue to add to any unresolved issues and unresolved issues create fear.

  2. I agree, the other side of fear is peace; the peace we all deserve, so it has got to be worth confronting who or what we need to in order to 'break through.'

Finding our peace and the problems we encounter along the way are hopefully short lived and the reward a just one.

    1. Yes, it's important we confront who or what we need to so that we can have peace. Without dealing or addressing our issues, we'll struggle to find peace and will always have fear in our hearts.

In such uncertain times, we need to be concentrating on finding peace and the only way I know to do that is deal with our issues and 'demons.' We all have them.
