The pillars of wellbeing work together to give you an overall sense of wellbeing. They include physical wellbeing, mental wellbeing, emotional wellbeing, and financial wellbeing.
Let’s look at the individual pillars of wellbeing:
Physical wellbeing
Physical wellbeing is how you feel physically, keeping active, eating the right foods, and making sure you get enough sleep. If you're physically well, you're more likely to stay mentally and emotionally well. Both of those help ensure a good foundation for your overall mental health.
Mental Wellbeing
Mental wellbeing is the most important. If you are mentally well, you can be emotionally and physically well. It is important to prioritise practices that boost your mental health. Without good mental health you may struggle with your physical health.
Emotional Wellbeing
Good mental health helps you to manage your stress and our social time. It is important to understand mental health so that you are aware of the early warning signs of ill health, particularly around mental illness. When you learn to incorporate strategies that contribute to the four pillars of wellbeing, you can manage stress better.
Financial Wellbeing
When it comes to financial wellbeing, too little can result in financial worries and stress that can impact physical health. Too much and you may be bringing in the ego and totally different character traits. Money changes people. Working within the restraints of what you have is important.
If you are struggling to stay mentally, emotionally and physically well, please reach out for support. Learning to identify problems and finding strategies to improve your situation, should create better habits, creating a healthier work and life balance.
Mental Health Awareness is an important component in helping to understand mental health. When you incorporate those with self-care techniques, you are paving the way for strong foundations for good mental health. (Source: https://www.wearewellbeing.co.uk)
