If you believe in spirituality, you'll know how important it is that we try to do better than we did yesterday, try to be better people.
We may not always think about others, do right by others, we may hurt someone because we're hurting BUT that isn't an excuse. Trying to be better, means you take out the ego and a self-righteous, holier than thou attitude.
Spirituality
Through spirituality, you can challenge yourself to be more considerate of others, to be more tolerant, to embrace others. It is only through spirituality, going back to basics, that you will appreciate the little things. It is the little things that will help you to stay grounded and humble. It means you focus your attention on what nurtures and sustains you.
Although being spiritual can't stop the bad things from happening, trying to be better means you will learn how to handle yourself better and that helps us in our relationships. Practise gratitude, and challenge yourself to think positively.
Trying to be 'Better'
Trying to be better means you're also shifting the emphasis and that will help you to find a valuable source of mental balance. Something we should all continue to work on.
As you might surmise from my responses, I work really hard at being a better person, even if it means modifying the way I think. But I do this before the eyes of the universe, not man. That assures a better human being at the end of the day.
Of course, I feel really awful when I fall short. Life can take a bite out of you sometimes.
Thanks Tim. Yes, your responses are as I would respond. Your thoughts are very similar to mine. There is nothing wrong with those.
The fact that you respond in the way you do means you're already there, but agree it is easy to fall short on being 'the better person.' We're human, we falter, we don't always get it right.
But what is important here is that we continue to be better, we continue to give back, we continue to make a difference, we continue to pull our weight with each other.
It is important that we work on continuing to be better people than we were yesterday, that we learn to pull through our struggles, to make this world a better place for us, and future generations.
It's also about how we live. We must start giving back to the planet. If we don't there won't be a planet. I can't speak plainer than that.
We can all try to 'do better' and in many respects that must be a No. 1 lesson for us all, for now matter how much we try we all fall short sometimes.
Thanks. Yes, we all fall short, but not everyone will admit to falling short, it's usually someone else's problem.
We must all try to be better and continue to try, so that future generations grow up in a more balanced world.
It's a good lesson for us all to learn.
