We need to understand the reasoning behind another person's actions, to understand why they choose to behave in the way they do.

Although they're not off the hook and it’s wrong when they choose not to concern themselves, it's wrong they choose not to accept what they've done. No one should be on the receiving end of another person's bad behaviour.

Whatever their reason, it’s not okay when they can make a difference and choose not to. We’re not infallible. We make mistakes, we are capable of being wrong.

Some things are not easily forgiven. For those of us on the receiving end of what has been ignored, it is important we understand, so that what has happened doesn’t consume our every waking thought.

It doesn't get them off the hook or make what they've done right, but it does stop us from consuming their negativity, because that can make us ill.

  1. I can see that it helps to understand the reason why people behave the way that they do. It doesn't take away the consequences of their actions or their responsibility for them.

    1. Thanks, No it doesn't and neither should it. But for us it's just important we get to understand others' reasoning.

Although it doesn't change our life, it does help us see our lives differently.

  2. Each person carries one large bandage to camouflage their issues. That implies burdens that are way too much for me to handle with reason.

So to make things uncomplicated, I'll just step aside until folks understand how negative energy affects other people.

    1. Thanks Tim. Yes, I absolutely agree. I couldn't write for the Diary with a negative slant on my life, but your last paragraph holds a lot of truth. I think it right we step aside, to avoid coming embroiled in other people's negativity, which then becomes our own.

Like you, I've also spent a lifetime 'stepping aside' from other people's negativity. Stepping aside as you right say, is the way to go, but not easily achieved, particularly when it comes to family.
