Each person has their story and their take on other people’s lives!!! We all have so many different, bright beautiful lives!!! Remember, no matter what we think we know about a person’s life is nothing compared to the actual person living behind the lens!!!! – Britney Spears
Yes we do. The Covid-19 pandemic is shining the spotlight on each of us, leading some of us to think about what is important in our lives, and what we need address to bring about our own change, but not everyone does or is doing that.
It is important to take time to think about what others have to deal with, not assume things about them without really knowing and deal with our own issues.
We should think about gratitude, about own our lives and how we too can make a difference. When it comes to other people, we rarely think about what it is like to live another person's life, in their shoes; to understand things from their point of view. It is important to think about another person's life, to understand what they go through without judging.
Empathy, compassion, tolerance and acceptance is all it would take for us to think about and put others first. When it is put this simply, we may see that it doesn't take a lot for us to put others first.
To imagine we are in the circumstances of someone else, helps us to understand their opinion or point of view.
Before being quick to judge someone for their actions, or words we should always try to put ourselves in their shoes and then think what we would have done.
Perhaps then we might be more accepting and tolerant of others.
Thanks. You're right, but it's not what we generally do. But unless we put ourselves into someone else's shoes and we see what others see, we can never know.
I do think though, that with empathy and compassion, we will open ourselves up to us understanding what others deal with.
It is necessary if we are to communicate better, be a support and understand other people's opinion or point of view, as you mention.
