It’s not enough to just talk. We should act on the things we say. Actions need to manifest our words. If we hurt someone it’s not enough for us to say sorry. We need to show we're genuinely sorry.

We Should Apologise

When it comes to an apology, how we apologise is how we will put things right. All apologies need to clear the path for emotional healing and reconciliation. When we look at how certain people behave, it is easy for us to become irritated.

Actions Speak Louder than Words

But any ensuing emotions can often feel insurmountable, preventing us from moving on. How we act is how others will receive us. We need actions, not words. Words are hollow without our ability to follow those words through.

We should act on our words and always in the best interest of others.

  1. "Actions speak louder than words." I grew up with parents who were always breaking their promises, never doing much to apologize, or to do things differently.

I have also spent half my life in a recovery program watching people continuously behave the same way and wonder why their lives didn't change, myself included.

But in the past year I have been doing a lot of action to change things and even though some of what I have changed weren't readily accepted, it hasn't slowed me down.

It's pretty amazing what I have managed to accomplish now. I want to be able to continue the momentum to make my life even better, along with making the other changes that I need to make.

  2. We take action but it's often drowned out by propaganda and the accumulation of negativity. Then action gets reduced to simple noise. We see this here in the good old USA.

But action can be just simple awareness. When you are aware, the rest of you will follow.

    1. Thanks Tim. Yes, you're right. Actions can be drowned out by propaganda through the accumulation of negativity, from those who don't agree to the action in the first place.

The problem with acting on something of course, is that if we've not thought it through well enough, the action we take will catapult us into an altogether different place.

Yes, we certainly become aware when someone acts, particularly if their actions are impulsive, or we're not expecting them to do what they've done.

    2. Thanks Randy. Yes, you've definitely changed and mixed things up a bit and should be proud of yourself.

The fact that you have managed those changes, means you would be able to change things again if you needed to.

Given your life, you must accept you may have to be a little selfish, particularly if you're mentally struggling.

It's not that anyone would set out to do that wittingly, but sometimes we have to do it if we are to put ourselves into a better head and physical space.
