What is meant to be will be. Then there are things that are self-inflicted, like the Covid virus. It's a virus we have created through the way we live our lives.

Experts believe that the coronavirus is likely to have originated in bats or pangolins – a small mammal poached for use in traditional Chinese medicine in China. The first transmission to humans was in Wuhan, China. Some reports trace the earliest cases back to a seafood and animal market in Wuhan, and it is possible from here that the virus started to spread to humans. But we are to blame now, because we’re not being careful enough and we’re being selfish.
Covid-19: Late Responses from Governments
So this was meant to be. Governments are to blame for not responding quickly enough to the pandemic. For going into lock down too late and easing lock down too early, but the general population is also not working with what they know and by not masking, the virus is spreading.

We are also responsible for changing certain elements. Yes, things are fated, they were always on the cards, but certain things are self-inflicted, and those things then become fated.
I agree with you, while its origins may well have been beyond human control, it is early days yet and we have already run out of excuses.
Global leaders are guilty of colossal failure of leadership. Here in the UK the government waited and watched and the public paid the price with 10% of global deaths in the UK alone.
They got it wrong but must now work together to ensure a safe and effective vaccine is found soon and to make sure this does not happen again.
The pandemic could be a defining moment in world history, or its biggest disaster. We must all change to protect future generations.

World leaders must agree a way forward and work together. We must all do our bit to make sure we're all safe. Wearing masks is vital.
Wearing a mask not only protects you, it protects others in contact with you, and you in contact with others, which is why everyone must wear one.
This seems to be one of the hardest concepts for people to deal with, myself included. I have fought so hard for things to turn out the way I wanted them to, but in the end I have been my own worst enemy.
The virus is a prime example of people choosing to not do what they need to do, even if it will save their own lives. Just because we can't see the problem, we don't believe that it really exists, and therefore act like it doesn't.
The other prime example is people choosing to gather in large groups and protest over something that they have no control over, which has only contributed to spreading the virus even more.
What would people do if this was actually something like a zombie plague where going outside could actually get you killed? I seriously have to wonder what it will take for people to change before it's absolutely too late.

It is both irritating and annoying that politicians and world leaders could have handled the pandemic differently. We must all come together, and make lifestyle changes not only for us to protect our future, but our children's future, and their children's future.
The virus came to pass, it has not only taken lives, but is ruining more lives, destroying families. Politicians must act and we must all come together before we lose yet more lives.
Breathing will actually get you killed these days, due to a virus that's not at all conspicuous. It reminds us that life is not in the palms of our hands.

Not knowing or quite understanding how the virus works is a cause for concern. Japanese scientists are closer in their understanding of how the virus mutates.
I believe the world must now sit up and listen.
